To join as a Montville Chamber of Commerce Member fill out either application form below. The first form is for a once off online payment and the second form is for those who prefer direct deposits – Please only fill out one form.

Mission Statement

To promote economic vitality and sustainability in Montville and the nearby surrounding areas

• Giving you a voice in our future! The more diverse our membership, the better we are able to represent our
business community.

• Listing on website including a short description of your business and direct link back to your website.

• Business and social networking opportunities with our members and joint networking opportunities.

• Regular meetings with informative guest speakers at a special member’s price.

• Workshops, training and business development opportunities often at no charge.

• Regular newsletters and Facebook updates.

• Collaborative marketing opportunities.

• Promoting you and your business and events on our social media accounts.

• Membership of Montville Chamber of Commerce also gives you access to Business Chamber Queensland (formerly
CCIQ) and information relating to legislative changes & issues affecting business generally as well as their webinars.

• Bringing you together with other members to capitalise on opportunities, working collaboratively on projects. Our
influence and marketing budgets are limited but by working together we can have a significant impact.

Marketing and promoting Montville as a tourist destination.

Active marketing and promotion of Montville through media coverage, advertising, radio ads, display ads at major events
programs, newsletters to our database, our website and social media:
• Developed a Restaurant and Café opening times provided to information centres, accommodation houses,
businesses and locals and promoted on our website. This concept was expanded in 2022 to include more venues.

• Developing, publishing and updating the ‘Welcome to Montville Village’ shopping guide now including all members.

• Developing potential tourism opportunities eg The Dark Sky Astro Tourism.

• Developing a new inclusive logo and tag lines for our tourism based new build website.

• Regular social media posts promoting Montville, media releases, contributions to local print & online publications.

• Valuable advertising exposure via Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC) on TV programs and in their annual Visitor Guide.

• Promoting Montville as a wedding destination through our social media channels.

• Providing regular information updates from all levels of government to members via newsletters.

• Participating in online sessions hosted by the Sunshine Coast Council (SCC), CCIQ/Business Chamber Queensland,
Small Business Commissioner and Federal Member.

• Organising a round table Forging Montville’s Future forum with high level representatives including Andrew Powell
MP Tourism & Environment Minister, Matt Stoekel CEO VSC, Chris Le Serve Head of Economic Development, SCC; Cr
Winston Johnston SCC our Executive Team and representatives of Hinterland Tourism and the MVA.

• Surveying and contacting members to get feedback on major issues and priorities.

• Ongoing review of our Strategic Plan to enable us to take advantage of opportunities eg airport expansion;

• Three interactive Facebook sites with over 6400 followers catering for members, visitors and wedding related.

• Increasing our Instagram following to over 4400. Regular Instagram posts over @montvillechamber
@montvilleartisanvillage and event related showcases on @avillageweddingexpo.

• Promoting the Sunshine Coast Council’s Buy Local Day.

• Organising annual Tree Lighting Festival including the Montville Christmas Market.

• Initiating Artifest over the May long weekend featuring 10 micro events throughout Montville.

• Hosting an International Women’s Day event with Guest Speaker Dr Sophia O’Brien at Secrets on the Lake.

• Organising treats and activities over Easter and Mother’s Day.

• Developing a new tourism based website with updated content, media and events to optimise web presence;

• Employing a social media content producer to assist with promotions on our social channels partly funded by the
businesses paying for Gold and Platinum promotional packages.

• Organising a Small Business Month event funded by the State Government’s Building Better Business. This program
built on the Recharge, Renew and Rebuild theme and included a separate Wellness Workshop.

• Small Business Month Campaign showcasing each member on a Facebook post on one of our 3 platforms.

• Continued development of Montville Artisan Village brand including the promotion of @MontvilleArtisanVillage IG
account. Supporting local artisans through sponsoring Sculpture on the Edge. Input into the Streetscape Plan.

• Electronic newsletter campaigns to our Member database of approximately 200 subscribers.

• Organising the placement and maintenance of two AEDs based in the Montville IGA and Montville Mountain Inn.

• Initiating Coffee and Socials monthly to support and connect with local business owners.

• Working with other local associations such as joint meetings with Maleny Commerce, promotions with Hinterland
Tourism Sunshine Coast, collaboration with Montville Village Association (MVA), the Blackall Range Lions, Sunshine
Coast Chamber Alliance and Sunshine Coast Council (SCC) to promote the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

• Working with the MVA and the SCC on the streetscape plan including the northern entry upgrade and improved pedestrian connectivity via an improved footpath from the Montville Mountain Inn; sculpture procurement.

• Supporting the Glass House Business Awards initiated by Andrew Powell MP.

• Raising funds for local community groups including ZONTA Blackall Range, Blackall Range Lions and Montville SS.

• Securing funding for projects such as the Christmas in July, Revitalise Montville and the Christmas Campaign.

• Liaising closely with Visit Sunshine Coast, our peak tourism body facilitating online social media and digital
workshops. The inclusion of Andrew Fairbairn as advisor to our Executive Committee to ensure our subregion is
represented.

• Writing a Letter of Support to ensure the return of a pharmacy to Montville.

• Working with Visit Sunshine Coast to keep the Visitor Info Centre open and recognizing our great volunteers.

• Lobbying our Federal, State and Local Government representatives to support local businesses eg. retail,
accommodation, hospitality and wedding industry in response to the pandemic.

• Lobbying the State Government for the removal of vaccine mandates within the Hospitality Sector.

• Lobbying the Federal Government to make changes in the Monash Model to fund patient visits to enable our
Medical Centre to remain viable. Supporting Andrew Wallace’s petition to the Federal Health Minister.

• Assisting the SCC in keeping our area presentable to visitors by scheduling street cleaning, improving gardens.
